Abstract
This paper examined the change of tourism trends in Korea due to the recent economic crisis in East Asia and the Pacific region. The paper discusses the need for reducing the barriers to international tourism by identifying the most significant barriers and the most important recommendations for improvement. Findings of the survey on the barriers to inbound and outbound tourism are analyzed from the perspective of identifying the current problems occurring in Korean tourism. Consequently, it provides possible solutions and recommendations for improving the situation and for removing the remaining barriers to Korean tourism.
