ABSTRACT
The Aggression Scale (AS) measures overt aggressive adolescent behaviour including physical and verbal aggression and anger. In the current study, psychometric properties of the Vietnamese version of the AS were evaluated in 411 adolescents (Mage = 14.00, SDage = 1.12; 47.2% boys). Test-retest reliability was calculated in 184 participants. Among five models tested, confirmatory factor analysis supported the second-order factor solution with three first-order factors (Physical Aggression, Verbal Aggression and Anger) all loading on one general factor. Internal consistency, test-retest reliability, and convergent, divergent validity of the total scale were satisfactory. In conclusion, the Vietnamese AS is a reliable and valid measure of aggressive behaviour in Vietnamese adolescents.
