Abstract
The Pet Travel Scheme (PETS) allows dogs and cats to enter the UK from qualifying countries without being quarantined, providing they meet certain requirements. Although it has liberated the movement of animals to and from the UK, there are real disease threats to be aware of. Rachel Smithson discusses how to minimise the risks to animals as well as humans
