Abstract

Physiotherapy is a science-based profession characterised by the prevention and treatment of movement disorders. Veterinary texts frequently refer to physiotherapy in the context of the application of individual modalities such as heat and massage, neglecting the broader scope of benefits that physiotherapy can offer. This article introduces a series that seeks to provide information about veterinary physiotherapy as practised by veterinary physiotherapists (physios).
