This article has been corrected. The authors have corrected errors in the text and figures as follows:

  • Figure 3 has been updated with the correct colour schema/legend + added Tett-formation west of Luxor.

  • The main supplement map has been updated with:

    • o Flint bearing geological strata west of Luxor (horizontal black lines)

    • o Smaller areas (light red colours) for regions with < 10km to raw material + drainage stream >1,000km2 based on the computation including the area west of Luxor

  • Area percentages in Section 3.3 ‘Raw Materials’ has been corrected
