Abstract

In this study, impedance spectroscopy was employed for determining the electrical response of fine-grained soils, coarse-grained soils and glass beads. Using the results, an equivalent electrical circuit, which has been shown to be quite useful for modeling the flow of alternating current (AC) in porous media by earlier researchers, was developed for these materials. The study reveals that the components of the electrical circuits can be employed for modeling the flow of AC in fine- and coarse-grained soils.
