Abstract
Boynton (Citation2012) recounts her discovery that facilitated communication (FC) is a completely ineffective educational intervention. Using her experience as a beginning point, I briefly outline the rise of FC, summarize previous research in the area, and present an empirical imperative as a means of debunking FC claims.
