Abstract
This article describes a project in which the mathematics department at Kingswood School, Bath, collaborated with colleagues and students from the art department to create an engaging timeline of mathematical portraits. This has turned a drab stairwell into an integral part of the mathematics department. The project has sparked general interest among the students, and the area is now viewed far more positively by students and staff alike.
