ABSTRACT

TH Wu was among the seminal figures of geotechnical reliability. In a long string of publications beginning in the 1960s he introduced concepts of probabilistic design, statistical analysis of soils data, and Bayesian decision analysis to problems of practical importance to foundation engineers, both on- and off-shore. This paper highlights important practical contributions TH made through his published case studies.
