Pushing Boundaries: Queer Intercultural Communication

Pages 83-95 | Published online: 17 Apr 2013

Acknowledgments

Thank you to Shiv Ganesh, Sara McKinnon, and Kimberlee Pérez for help on this introduction. In addition, thank you to Ondine Godtschalk, Giorgia Aiello, Lucas Messer, Chuck Morris, Isaac West, Erin Rand, Jigna Desai, Naida Zukic, Dan Brouwer, Shane Moreman, and the issue participants for their support in this endeavor.

Notes

1. It is important not to confuse Stryker's notion of homonormativity with the more popular one identified by Lisa Duggan (Citation2002). Duggan's conception describes gays and lesbians who want to conform to heteronormative ideals of citizenship, consumerism, and belonging.

2. See especially the article in this report by Luis Abolafia Anguita, “Aid conditionality and respect for LGBT people rights,” pp. 9–15. For the full statement the African organizations released, see: Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID, Citation2011). Thank you to Scott Long for drawing my attention to this document on his blog, http://paper-bird.net/.
