Llerena Guiu Searle

Llerena Guiu Searle is an associate professort of anthropology at the University of Rochester who studies the capitalist practices that shape urban space. Her first book Landscapes of Accumulation: Real Estate and the Neoliberal Imagination in Contemporary India (University of Chicago Press, 2016) uses anthropological approaches to markets, value, and discourse to theorize the spectacular growth of Indian cities in terms of financialization. She is currently researching struggles over the value of labor in India's home décor industries.
