6 The band's acquisitive approach to visual references, whether vernacular or fine art, landed them in legal trouble in February 2012 when Jane Alexander, whose iconic sculpture The Butcher Boys (1985–86) was quoted in an online teaser video for Die Antwoord's new album Ten$ion, dispatched a legal request asking that the video be removed. The band obliged Alexander's request without contest.
