Arif DIRLIK

Arif DIRLIK lives in Eugene, OR. He most recently (Fall 2011) held the Rajni Kothari Chair in Democracy at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies in Delhi, India. In Fall 2010, he served as the first Liang Qichao Memorial Distinguished Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University, Beijing. His most recent book-length publications are Windows on Global Modernity: Social Scientific Essays, translated by Lian Xu, Zhang Wenbo and Yang Deai (Beijing: Intellectual Property Publishing House, 2013), Culture and History in Postrevolutionary China: The Perspective of Global Modernity (Hong Kong: Chinese University of Hong Kong Press, 2011), and two edited volumes, Sociology and Anthropology on Twentieth Century China (Hong Kong: The Chinese University Press, 2012) and Global Capitalism and the Future of Agrarian Society (Boulder, CO: Paradigm Publishers, 2012).
