ABSTRACT

This paper investigates the optimization of parameters using the Taguchi method and principal component analysis (PCA). Five controllable factors were selected for optimization. The single-objective optimization of performance and emission characteristics was studied by the Taguchi approach. PCA has been adapted to transform a multi-objective optimization problem into a single objective function, called a composite principal component. Results of PCA were analyzed by a confirmation experiment.
