Summary
Albumin/globulin quotient has been studied in cardiac patients, with or without œdema, with or without hepatic damage.
A decrease of the serum-albumin is more generally observed in patients with œdema and hepatic damage of circulatory origin.
Protein hydrolysates have been useful to restore blood proteins only when cardiac failure has been alleviated and hepatic function improved.
