Interpretation Morphologique Des Leucemies Apparemment Monocytaires^*

Summary

The authors report three cases of Leukemia in which the pathological blood cells have a morphology very near to that of blood monocytes. They relate the admitted hypotheses concerning the origin of blood cells and concerning the different kinds of so-called monocytic leukemia. They propose to consider the two first cases as monocytic paramyeloblast leukemia (Nägeli type) and the third case as one of histiomonocytic leukemia (Schilling type). The anatomo-pathological study of the three cases has been performed by Prof. Goormaghtigh.

Les auteurs décrivent trois cas de leucémie dans lesquels les cellules sanguines pathologiques ont une morphologie rappelant celle des monocytes sanguins. Ils exposent les hypothèses admises au sujet de l’origine des cellules sanguines et au sujet des leucémies à cellules apparemment monocytaires. Ils proposent de considérer deux des cas observés comme des leucémies à paramyéloblastes monocytaires (type Nägeli), et le troisième comme un cas de leucémie à histiomonocytes (type Schilling). L’étude anatomo-pathologique détaillée des trois cas a été effectuée par le Prof. Goormaghtigh.

Samenvatting

De schrijvers beschrijven drie gevallen van leucaemie in dewelke de pathologische bloedcellen morphologische eigenschappen vertonen die gelijk zijn aan deze van bloedmonocyten. Zij zetten uiteen de hypothesen die aangenomen zijn betreffende de oorsprong van de bloedcellen en betreffende de verscheidene Leucaemieën met waarschijnlijke monocytaire cellen. Zij stellen voor de twee eerste van de waargenomen gevallen te beschouwen als Leucaemie met monocytaire paramyeloblasten (type Nägeli), en het derde als een geval van Leucaemie met histiomonocyten (type Schilling). De anatomo-pathologische studie van deze drie gevallen werd uitgevoerd door Prof. Goormaghtigh.
