Sequelles Tardives D’Une Pyelographie Au Thorotrast^*

Summary

A renal carcinoma occurring thirty years after a retrograde pyelography with Thorotrast is described. The case is illustrated by X-rays, histologic and autoradiographic findings. The mechanism, the diagnostic difficulties and the treatment of the Thorotrast kidney are discussed.

Les auteurs décrivent un cas de carcinome rénal apparu trente ans après une urographie par voie basse au moyen de Thorotrast. Le diagnostic de thorotrastome est suggéré par l'aspect typique des radiographies et confirmé par les examens anatomopathologique et autoradiographique. Les problèmes pathogéniques, diagnostiques et thérapeutiques du thorotrastome sont discutés.

Samenvatting

De auteurs beschrijven de ziektegeschiedenis van een patiënt bij wie een nicr-carcinoom verschen dertig jaar na een retrograde Pyelographie. De diagnose werd gesteld aan de hand van de radiologische afwijkingen en de pathologisch-anatomische bevindingen. Ze werd bevestigd door het aantonen van radioactiviteit in het nierweefsel en door autoradiografieën. Een overzicht wordt gegeven van de eigenschappen van het thorium en van de diagnostische en therapeutische problemen die door de Thorotrastnier gesteld worden.
