Bacteroides Fragilis

Summary

Bacteroides fragilis is a frequent causative agent of serious infections occurring after major surgery or in immuno depressed patients.

Technical details concerning its isolation and identification are presented.

The nature of the necessary growth factor seems to be the tetrapyrrolstructure.

Bactcroides fragilis est un germe fréquemment isolé à partir d’états infectieux graves suite à des interventions chirurgicales ou chez des immunodéprimés.

Des détails techniques concernant l’isolement et l’identification de cette espèce sont donnés.

La nature du facteur de croissance fut étudiée et s’avère être constitué par le noyau tetrapyrrolique.

Samenvatting

Bacteroides fragilis is dikwijls oorzaak van ernstige infekties die zich voornamelijk voordoen na chirurgische ingrepen en bij immunodepressieve patiënten.

Technische gegevens worden verstrekt in verband met in kweek brengen en identificeren van de kiem.

De groeifactor van deze kiem blijkt de tetrapyrrolring te zijn.
