Combination chemotherapy with vincaleucoblastine, nitrogen mustard and methylhydrazine, is still able to induce 70 % complete and incomplete remissions in advanced stages of Hodgkin’s disease, most of them having already been treated previously. Patients with a Karnofsky index below 50 derive no benefit from this therapeutic scheme.

Résumé

Une polychimiothérapie associant vincaleucoblastine, moutarde azotée et méthylhydrazine est encore capable d’induire 70% de rémissions complètes et incomplètes dans des stades avancés de la maladie de Hodgkin, souvent traités précédemment. Les patients dont l’indice de Karnofsky est inférieur à 50 ne bénéficient cependant pas de cette thérapeutique.

Samenvatting

Polychemoterapie met vinkaleukoblastine, stikstofmosterd en methylhydrazine maakt het nog mogelijk 70% volledige en gedeeltelijke remissies in gevorderde, dikwijls al vroeger behandelde, stadien van morbus Hodgkin te bekomen. Deze behandeling is toch van geen nut bij patiënten met een index van Karnofsky onder 50.
