William Farge

Fr. William Farge, S. J. After finishing his undergraduate studies at Loyola University New Orleans, he was assigned by his Jesuit order to work in Japan. After completing a Japanese language course in Kamakura and teaching for two years at a Jesuit high school in Hiroshima, he entered the theology program at Sophia University in Tokyo, completing a B.A., M.A. and S.T.L (Licentiate in Sacred Theology) in 1977. On his return to the U.S. in 1990 Fr. Farge entered Indiana University and completed his Ph.D. there in 1997. His latest book is A Christian Samurai: The Trials of Baba Bunkō published by Catholic University Press in 2016.
