On page 109 of the above article, published in issue 11(1) of Critical Interventions, several timeline entries appear incorrectly. The corrected entries appear below. The author apologizes for these errors.

1972: Paa-ya-Paa Gallery hosts a slide presentation by the American portrait artist Alice Neel, who later painted a portrait of Kenyan businessman Peter Kinuthia in New York City.

1973–2003: African Heritage Pan-African Art Gallery established by Joseph and Sheila Murumbi with Alan Donovan; Murumbi was Kenya's second Vice President and a vocal nationalist and anti-tribalist. The Murumbis were major collectors and their legacy now is displayed in the National Archives and at the Nairobi Gallery (the latter for 5 years) under the auspices of the Murumbi Trust (established, 2003 by Alan Donovan).
