Ellen J. Foster

Ellen J. Foster, Ph.D., is associate professor of secondary education–social studies at the University of Mississippi. She received her Ph.D. in Geography-Geographic Education from Texas State University–San Marcos, in May 2006. Dr. Foster taught high school social studies for nine years in the Greater San Antonio area upon completion of her M.A. in Teaching (Trinity University, 1994). Dr. Foster joined the University of Mississippi in 2007 and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in social studies methods and geographic education. She is serving as NCGE's president in 2016.
