Abstract

The author, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, a decorated naval officer, and a veteran of multiple tours during the Iraq War, describes his experience serving under the military's Don't Ask Don't Tell policy. Issues around fear of being reported, relationship strain, and also pride in service are discussed.
