Gays in the Military: How America Thanked Me

Abstract

The author discusses his project of taking photographs and doing audio interviews of military veterans and service members affected by the ban on gays and lesbians serving, either before or after the enactment of the military's Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy. He reviews the history of the ban and presents excerpts from the interviews.
