Abstract

The author discusses a clinical case presented by David Pauley. Of particular interest is the way in which Pauley and his young patient, Milo, create a holding environment to afford Milo's gender variance. Attention is also drawn to the manner in which social norms are funneled through regulatory anxiety from parent to child.
