Passing the torch

, MSc, MD, FRCPC, DFAPA

As we start our 2024 volume here at JGLMH, the official journal of AGLP: The Association of LGBTQ+ Psychiatrists, there are some important updates for our readership. The first is that the journal now has an official Impact Factor. Impact Factor is one metric of several of the journal’s rate of citation which can be found updated on the JGLMH “Journal Metrics” page on our website. Our first IF which represents 2022 is 1.6 for two-year, rising to 3.0 for five-year. Having an official IF is an important step in the evolution of JGLMH and it has been my pleasure to have been involved in leadership of the journal over many years.

At the end of this year’s volume, Volume 28, I will have been Editor-in-chief or co-EIC at the journal for ten years, and this will in fact be my last year in this position. It has been wonderful to have contributed to the field of academic LGBTQ+ mental health science over such a long period, and I appreciate the fantastic support that I have had over those years from our own editor’s team, the publishing team at Taylor & Francis, and at AGLP. More specific thanks will be forthcoming in subsequent editorials.

I hope you enjoy reading the contributions of our authors in this issue, with both a clinical and research focus.
