Beyond Borders: Youth, Education, Sexuality, Desire

Pages 115-124 | Published online: 11 Oct 2008

ABSTRACT

This review examines two texts that relate to youth, sexuality, and education. The first is James Sears' Youth, Education and Sexualities: An International Encyclopedia (2005) and the second is Youth and Sexualities: Pleasure, Subversion and Insubordination In and Out of Schools (2004) edited by Mary Louise Rasmussen, Eric Rofes, and Susan Talburt. Using a transnational approach, the review of these texts focuses on the relationships between the texts and queer diasporas.

Robert Mizzi is a Ph.D. candidate at York University's Faculty of Education. His work includes transnational sexualities, post-conflict reconstruction, and peace and community education. He is the founding director of Queer Peace International ([email protected])
