Bodies, Boxes, and Belonging: A Review of Queer Online

Pages 446-451 | Received 30 Mar 2009, Accepted 02 Sep 2009, Published online: 19 Oct 2009

Abstract

This article reviews Queer Online: Media, Technology and Sexuality, edited by CitationKate O'Riordan and David J. Phillips (2007). Although essays in Queer Online are welcome contributions to cyberqueer studies inasmuch as they underscore critical themes in cyberqueer lives, they sometimes lack the much-needed empirical basis for youth, parents, and education professionals to learn about, protect, and facilitate LGBT youth's online lives.
