A Review of Improving Emotional and Behavioral Outcomes for LGBT Youth and Health Services

Pages 189-195 | Received 30 Aug 2013, Accepted 29 May 2014, Published online: 15 Apr 2015

Abstract

Affirmative services require health professionals to be aware of sexual orientation and gender identity, regardless of their own self-identities. Improving Emotional and Behavioral Outcomes for LGBT Youth: A Guide for Professionals suggests that such services also require the knowledge and skills to work competently, offering culturally and linguistically effective services and supports in complex and meaningful ways.
