Paul Hartman is an assistant professor of early childhood and elementary literacy education at Illinois State University. His research focuses on literacy instruction that centers and builds upon the identities and language practices of historically marginalized children and communities. Prior to this role he was an elementary teacher in Chicago for over a decade.
