John D. Jackson (Ph.D., Michigan State University, 1966) is professor emeritus in Sociology at Concordia University in Montréal and a senior research fellow in the Centre for Broadcasting Studies. His latest publication with Greg M. Nielsen & Yon Hsu, Mediated Society: A Critical Sociology of Media, was published by Oxford, Toronto in 2011.
