Ming Zhang is a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Media and Communication at Bournemouth University. Her current research involves exploring the impact of female fans’ online practices (writing, reading, and discussing slash fan fiction) on their negotiation of hegemonic ideologies of gender and sexuality in mainland China.
