ABSTRACT

An efficient and straightforward procedure for the synthesis of perimidine derivatives has been achieved through the cyclocondensation reaction of various aromatic aldehydes with 1,8-diaminonaphthalene in the presence of nano-silica sulfuric acid (NSSA) as a catalyst. In addition to the efficiency and simplicity provided by this method, short reaction time, high yields, reusability of the catalyst, ease of workup, and environmental friendliness make the method advantageous.
