Abstract
In the present work, and
ions adsorption onto the chitin has been studied in the static system using synthetic solutions of (Na2HPO4, 12H2O) and NaH2PO4, with initial concentrations of 100 and 1,000 mg/l. The adsorption process is affected by various parameters such as contact time, initial concentration, pH solution, and temperature. The results show that the chitin used avoids high capacity to retain orthophosphate ions up to 0.91 and 0.75 g/g for
and
, respectively. The equilibrium is reached after 1 h for
and 3 h for
ions. The adsorption isotherms show a good correlation with the Langmuir and Freundlich model.
