Stefan Michalski created CCI’s Light Damage Slide Rule and its online replacement the Light Damage Calculator; the CCI’s Framework for Preservation of Museum Collections (agents of deterioration and stages of control); the humidity and temperature specifications in the Museums, Galleries, Archives and Libraries chapter of the ASHRAE Handbook; the Collection Preservation chapter in Running a Museum: A Practical Handbook by UNESCO and ICOM; the risk management manual The ABC Method; and contributions to PAS 198-2012. Two early articles were selected for Historical Perspectives on Preventive Conservation. He has also written on the science of suction tables, solvent cleaning and consolidation.
