Abby Kinchy
Abby Kinchy is a sociologist and associate professor in the Department of Science and Technology Studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She is the author of Science by the People: Participation, Power, and the Politics of Environmental Knowledge (Rutgers University Press, 2019) and Seeds, Science, and Struggle: The Global Politics of Transgenic Crops (The MIT Press, 2012). Her current research explores ‘citizen science’ methods for detecting heavy metals in urban soils in the United States and Chile.
