Voluntary and involuntary childlessness among catholic and non‐catholic women: Are the patterns converging?

Abstract

Data from 1976 and 1982 show Catholics less likely than non‐Catholics to be voluntarily childless and more likely to be involuntarily childless. Declining differences in fertility and contraception are discussed.
