I want to take this opportunity to thank the previous editor of the Journal of Language Literature and Culture, Professor Peter Goodall, for over a decade of work on behalf of the journal and its predecessor, AUMLA. Both the journal and its affiliate organisation, the Australasian Universities Languages and Literature Association (AULLA), owe much to Professor Goodall for his work in managing, editing and producing the journal to such a high standard for so many years. I also wish to thank Professor Goodall for his support and assistance in transferring the journal to my care and for his work in locating reviews for, accepting and developing the articles that appear in volume 63. I wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
