Morgan Gates

Morgan Gates is a Ph.D student in the Literature Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She is currently at work on a dissertation project, a paratextual reading practice for transmedial and transgeneric twentieth century U.S. African American literature inviting attention to the sensual and material dynamism of the literature. This project also listens to transnational cross-currents between Anglophone and Hispanophone literary and cultural texts that sonically imagine and recount the Haitian Revolution.
