Jared Asser is a PhD student at the University of Georgia, Athens, where he studies the cultural history of the U.S. South. His main research focus is on emotions and emotional control during the Reconstruction era. Though he is also focused upon gender history and the role of music in American political (and affective) life. He can be reached at [email protected].
