Iris Blake

Iris Blake is a University of California President’s Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Musicology at the University of California, Los Angeles. She received her PhD in Ethnic Studies from the University of California, Riverside and her MM in Ethnomusicology from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research examines how modernity has shaped knowledge about the voice and analyzes embodied performance, visual art, and speculative fiction as alternative archives for voicing and listening.
