One Volunteer’s Experience in Vietnam and Thailand

Pages 38-41 | Published online: 29 Nov 2016

Abstract

This article describes one occupational therapist’s experience guest lecturing on occupational therapy theory and skills to physical therapists in Vietnam and occupational therapy students in Thailand. Currently there is no occupational therapy school and no consistent access to occupational therapy services in Vietnam. Thailand has a well-developed occupational therapy program but not all the people of Thailand have readily available access to rehabilitation services. The people of Vietnam and Thailand would benefit from advancement in rehabilitation services and an increase in access to occupational therapy.
