Abstract

Este trabajo se centra en el ofrecimiento del crítico de arte Adrian Stokes de encargar y pagar al pintor William Coldstream un retrato de la psicoanalista Melanie Klein. Detalla algunos de los antecedentes de este ofrecimiento en su relación previa primero con Klein y luego con Coldstream; la respuesta de Klein a su ofrecimiento; y su resultado y repercusión en los escritos posteriores de Stokes sobre Klein y Coldstream.
