Modern miracles in Egypt, a photographic essay

 

Abstract

This visual essay presents images and short texts regarding a photographic project about modern miracles experienced in Egypt. It shows a range of miraculous experiences and provided entry points to view and engage with Egypt's peoples and beliefs.

Notes on contributor

David Darl Degner is originally from Augusta, Georgia, and received BA degrees in photojournalism and philosophy from Western Kentucky University (USA). He has worked as a photojournalist for newspapers in the United States before moving to Cairo in 2010 and freelancing as a photojournalist around the Middle East. He splits his time between personal projects, publications, NGOs and companies. Three of his favorite personal projects include Modern Miracles, Fancy Pigeon Portraits, and Maharaganat Music. He has edited and mentored photographers for Panorama, a platform showcasing the best photojournalistic work from Egypt.
