Abstract
In the attempt to work out the steps and identify the participants in the renin/angiotensin system, investigators have been confronted with an amazingly complex biochemical jigsaw puzzle in which the need has been to fit together various hormones, enzymes, enzyme substrates, and “converting factors.” While some pieces remain to be found and many to be fitted, the overall design of the picture is becoming clearer.
