Simultaneous Multiple Organ Support

Abstract

The experience of a medium-size (292-bed) general hospital in the combined use of modalities like hemodialysis, intra-aortic balloon pumping, volume respiration, and hyperbaric oxygenation is described in terms of exemplary cases and the lessons learned therefrom. Organization of the support team in the hospital need follow no rigid rules; the facilities and personnel needed are already at hand.
