Molecular Genetics of T-Cell Antigen Receptors

Pages 157-170 | Published online: 17 May 2016

Abstract

The immunoglobulin paradigm has led to characterization of genetic controls of the T-cell antigen receptor and has correctly predicted mechanisms for generating diversity. With the isolation of the T-cell antigen-receptor molecule and the genes that encode it, a major step has been taken toward understanding and treating a wide range of immune-related diseases and lymphoid malignancies.
