The Biology of Amiloride-Sensitive Sodium Channels

Pages 149-164 | Published online: 17 May 2016

Abstract

The movement of sodium ions through those important epithelial entry pathways that are inhibited with high affinity by the diuretic amiloride can now be analyzed at the single-channel level. The next step to achieve a complete understanding of the process at the molecular level would be to purify and characterize the component(s) of the channel protein.
