Tourism Entrepreneurship as a Career Choice for the Young in Nigeria

&
Pages 215-223 | Published online: 09 Jun 2011

Abstract

This paper builds on a model of opportunity recognition, presenting findings from an exploratory study of four Nigerian entrepreneurs who all started their business as young people. Their narratives, enhanced by the inclusion of significant events derived through the critical incident technique, provide useful insights into their entrepreneurial career motivation, decisions, behaviour and patterns. Implications are drawn for further research, and the development of young entrepreneurs.
