On the First Anniversary of Occupy Wall Street Movement: Gains, Losses and Perspectives

Abstract

On the first anniversary of Occupy Wall Street, occupiers assembled to protest the social injustice caused by greed and bailouts of major banks and financial institutions. This paper summarizes views of scholars on the occupy movement as well as their proposals for its future development. To some extent, the Occupations have made an substantial impact on American society with concepts of social equity and justice, and its the future is yet to be structured.
